DESCRIPTION:Heroísma / Female Heroism (in the Underworld)\n \n \n \n \n \n Éowyn Bailey ’26\, Fenwick Scholar\n \n Purchase Tickets\n \n \n \n \n \n \n\nRenata wakes up in Caronte’s boat\, fearing she is merely a silent shadow\, destined for death. To return home\, she navigates the underworld —a journey narrated by the Morella siblings— to find wisdom unavailable on Earth. Renata meets four historical/mythological mentors: Ismene (an ancient Greek priestess and sister of Antigone)\, Anacaona (a Taína chieftess who plotted against the Spanish conquistadores)\, Camilla (a Volscian warrioress who fights the Trojans in the Aeneid) and Micaela Bastidas Puyucahua (a Quechua revolutionary who fought to end Spanish colonial rule in Peru). Will these encounters transform her from being an uncertain passenger into a leader who refuses to be silenced? \nJoin us for this thrilling multilingual production from Holy Cross Fenwick Scholar Éowyn Bailey ’26 at The Prior Performing Arts Center. \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Details\n\n \n \n \n \n \n Sat May 2\, 2026\n2 p.m.\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Price\n\n \n \n \n \n \n Free entry\, reservation required.\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Venue\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n\nBoroughs Theatre\nThe Prior Performing Arts Center

Throughout its vast continent of myriad cultures\, languages\, climates and politics\, its people share a ceremonial respect of a spiritual authority; an admiration of nature and the animal kingdom; and an understanding of Slavery’s lasting influence on natural law and order. I believe these commonalities are bound together\, and I have collected various pieces that highlight all three after first being introduced to this art in Roxbury\, MA by Aboubacar in 1994. Throughout our friendship and trade\, I began to understand the Diaspora and the journey of my people.” \n Eddie Jenkins '72

Its mission to collect\, share\, and celebrate the Latino experience in Worcester drives a community-centered effort to demonstrate the central role that Latinos played in Worcester and the nation’s larger history. \nThe LHPW’s growing collection of recorded oral history interviews\, photographs\, artifacts\, and written sources will benefit future researchers\, Worcester community members\, and students of all ages. For over a decade\, the project has hosted community events to examine a wide range of topics\, from the fights for bilingual education\, fair housing\, and police reform\, to the role of religion and spirituality in the lives of the Latino community. The project opened its first major exhibit at the Museum of Worcester in 2024. Digital exhibits\, archives\, and a print catalog documenting Worcester’s Latino history will soon follow. \nThis year’s main event to celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month will feature a discussion of the project and the larger effort to move Latino stories from the margins to the center of American history. \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\nAbout The Guest Speaker\nWe are honored to host Dr. Tey Marianna Nunn as guest speaker. SUMMARY:Outdoor Film Screening | Pakachoag: Where the River Bends
DESCRIPTION:Outdoor Film Screening\n \n \n \n \n \n Pakachoag: Where The River Bends\n \n \n \n \n \n The Native American Identity of Holy Cross Campus\n \n \n \n \n \n \n\nTelling a Native American story of the land where Holy Cross now resides\, Pakachoag: Where the River Bends is a documentary produced by faculty\, staff\, and students at The College of Holy Cross about the transformation of this area over the last 400 years. \nThe film takes viewers on a tour of key sites on Pakachoag Hill (now commonly known as College Hill or Mt. Saint James) and discusses them through a Native American perspective and through the stories they tell of environmental change. It covers Nipmuc relations with colonial settlers and the Jesuit community from the 1500s to today. \nWe are particularly excited to show this film on the exterior of The Prior Performing Arts Center in the Patterson Amphitheatre\, whose site is featured at the start of the film. There was a time when all Holy Cross students knew of Pakachoag\, but that knowledge has been lost. This film seeks to revive a widespread knowledge of the indigenous identity and significance of Pakachoag Hill and today’s larger Worcester region. \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Details\n\n \n \n \n \n \n September 3\, 20257:30 p.m. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Price\n\n \n \n \n \n \n Free entry \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Venue\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n\nBuilding Exterior located in the Patterson AmphitheatrePrior Performing Arts Center

SUMMARY:Jeremy Flower: A Series of Resolutions
DESCRIPTION:Prior Presents 2024–25\n \n \n \n \n \n Jeremy Flower: A Series of Resolutions\n \n RSVP: Thu Feb 27\, 2025 @ 7:00 PM\n \n \n \n \n \n \n\nwith the Semiosis Quartet\n\nJeremy Flower\, multi-instrumentalist and composer of acoustic and electronic music\, will perform a piece commissioned by Composer-In-Residence Osvaldo Golijov at The Prior on February 27. \nLike much of Flower’s work\, A Series of Resolutions aims to live outside genre definitions\, creating a place where moments of harmonic exploration and dissonance can coexist with earnest melodies. The extended sonic tapestry allowed through live electronic manipulation of the string quartet is mixed with synthesized and sampled sounds which can sometimes leave the listener wondering where a particular sound is originating. \nFlower and Golijov have collaborated extensively on film and concert music\, most recently the score to Francis Ford Coppola’s Megalopolis\, as well as the Grammy-nominated song cycle Ayre (2006) and the double Grammy Award-winning Ainadamar (2007). Flower finds himself at home on a concert stage supporting groups such as the Silkroad Ensemble\, or David Krakauer as well as in louder settings with long-time collaborators Carla Kihlstedt\, Matthias Bossi\, and Jon Evans. \n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Details\n \n \n \n \n \n \n February 27\, 20257:00 PM \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Price\n \n \n \n \n \n \n Free EntryRegistration Required \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Venue\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\nLuth Concert HallThe Prior Performing Arts Center \n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Explore More

SUMMARY:Outdoor Film Screening | Pakachoag: Where the River Bends
DESCRIPTION:Outdoor Film Screening\n \n \n \n \n \n Pakachoag: Where the River Bends\nThe Native American Identity of Holy Cross Campus\n \n \n \n \n \n \n\nTelling a Native American story of the land where Holy Cross now resides\, Pakachoag: Where the River Bends is a documentary produced by faculty\, staff\, and students at The College of Holy Cross about the transformation of this area over the last 400 years. The film takes viewers on a tour of key sites on Pakachoag Hill (now commonly known as College Hill or Mt. Saint James) and discusses them through a Native American perspective and through the stories they tell of environmental change. It covers Nipmuc relations with colonial settlers and the Jesuit community from the 1500s to today. \nWe are particularly excited to show this film for the first time at (and indeed on!) the Prior Center\, whose site is featured at the start of the film. There was a time when all Holy Cross students knew of Pakachoag\, but that knowledge has been lost. This film seeks to revive a widespread knowledge of the indigenous identity and significance of Pakachoag Hill and today’s larger Worcester region. \nThe documentary brings together primary resources from the American Antiquarian Society\, the Holy Cross Archives\, the Worcester Historical Museum and other repositories\, with perspectives from three narrators: Cheryll Holley of the Nipmuc Nation\, Thomas Doughton\, Nipmuc historian and Senior Lecturer at the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies at Holy Cross\, and Colin Novick\, environmental historian and Executive Director of the Greater Worcester Land Trust. \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Details\n \n \n \n \n \n \n September 4\, 20247:30 PM \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Price\n \n \n \n \n \n \n Free Entry \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Venue\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\nOutdoor Film ScreeningPrior Performing Arts Center
