New England dance maker, performer and educator Deborah Goffe offers campus- and community-based residency activities in conjunction with “Liturgy|Order|Bridge,” a new work co-commissioned by the Prior Performing Arts Center. Invoking performance as communal ceremony and audience engagement as a fellowship of witness, Goffe asks, “How do we look to Black church forms as inspiration for secular practices of care?”

“Liturgy|Order|Bridge” is made by Goffe with Scapegoat Garden, the company she founded in 2002 as a means to forge relationships between artists and communities. Goffe is Executive Director of Austin Arts Center and Artist-in-Residence of Theater and Dance at Trinity College.

Note: the “Liturgy|Order|Bridge” residency does not involve a public performance. Worcester community organizations interested in taking part in residency activities will please contact Marta Beyer at mbeyer@holycross.edu.
