request space

Members of the Holy Cross community members may request to use venues in the Prior Performing Arts Center for a variety of events and activities.

Requests from greater Worcester community partners must currently be made in collaboration with one or more units at Holy Cross.

For events taking place from September 2024 – June 2025, the timeline for Holy Cross space requests is as follows. Within each of these phases, priority is given to programming that aligns with the mission of the Prior Performing Arts Center and requires the unique resources of the center.

From February 2024 – June 15, 2024, the Prior Performing Arts Center will schedule standard student performances and exhibitions by the academic arts departments and programs; the Prior’s visiting artist series; ancillary programming by the Cantor Gallery; and annual programming by the Offices of Admissions and Advancement.

Beginning on June 15, 2024, the Prior Performing Arts Center will consider on a biweekly basis space requests for arts programming by students, faculty, and staff; programming at the intersection of the arts and other disciplines; and events and projects related to DEI and Inclusive Excellence. Programming for the fall semester should ideally be submitted by July 19.

Beginning on August 26, 2024 (start of classes), all requests from the College community will be considered together on a rolling biweekly basis.

Requests must be submitted through the Prior Performing Arts Center Space Request Form at least four weeks in advance of the proposed event.

Note 1: Request acceptance is limited by calendar availability, particularly in the center’s two theaters, and by the capacity of staff to meet your needs.

Note 2: Student requests must be made in conjunction with an academic department or the Office of Student Involvement.

Note 3: During the confirmation process, you will be informed of all procedures and facilities use policies regarding the venue, including your responsibility as event producer for set-up, clean-up, and staffing. In certain cases, the size or venue for your event may require the performing arts center’s front of house staff.

Note 4: During the confirmation process, you will also be informed if any charges pertain to your event. As event producer, you are responsible for coordinating with all other units (Dining Services, Facilities, Campus AV, etc.) as needed.
