
Poets Diannely Antigua and Philip Metres will read from and discuss thier work as part of the Working Writers Series sponsored by the Creative Writing Program.
Diannely Antigua is a Dominican American poet, educator, and community organizer born and raised in Massachusetts. She is the author of the poetry collections Ugly Music, which was the winner of the Pamet River Prize and a 2020 Whiting Award, and Good Monster.
Philip Metres is the author of thirteen books, including Dispatches from the Land of Erasure (2025), Fugitive/Refuge, and Sand Opera. His work has garnered fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation, Lannan Foundation, the NEA, and the Ohio Arts Council. He has received the William Carlos Williams Award, the Hunt Prize, the Adrienne Rich Award, three Arab American Book Awards, the Lyric Poetry Prize, the Pushcart Prize, and the Cleveland Arts Prize.
