With two can’t-miss community concert presentations set to wrap up Black History Month in 2026, The Prior invites patrons to witness a showing of African artwork collected by distinguished alumnus and Holy Cross football legend Eddie Jenkins ’72.

In addition to a dedication event on the evening of February 26, The Prior offers additional, pre-concert viewing opportunities for patrons planning to attend Music Worcester’s presentation of the Aaron Diehl Trio on February 27 and Kingdom Voice & Music’s presentation of their “Courage to Remember” choral program respectively.

“African Art parallels African History. Throughout its vast continent of myriad cultures, languages, climates and politics, its people share a ceremonial respect of a spiritual authority; an admiration of nature and the animal kingdom; and an understanding of Slavery’s lasting influence on natural law and order. I believe these commonalities are bound together, and I have collected various pieces that highlight all three after first being introduced to this art in Roxbury, MA by Aboubacar in 1994. Throughout our friendship and trade, I began to understand the Diaspora and the journey of my people.”
