Queens, Gods, and Devotees: Selections from the Petrucci Family Foundation Collection of African American Art

Featuring over 30 paintings, sculptures, photographs, prints, and fiber works from c. 1900 to the present, Queens, Gods, and Devotees foregrounds earthly and divine greatness, and their associated devotional objects and ritual practices. Join us for an informal exhibition of commissioned art works accompanied by a panel discussion between Prior Composer-In-Residence, Osvaldo Golijov, and Prior-Commissioned Artist, Alex Sopp, on the process and eventual marriage of a new work for chorus & orchestra premiering with the Boston Symphony Orchestra in November 2026 with art-infused projection as a way of communicating a world that inspired the inception of this new work.
