Brooks Scholar Sophie Rose Riopel ‘29 (saxophone and voice) performs a set of jazz standards inspired by the musical partnership between Nancy Wilson and Cannonball Adderley, whose 1962 album collaboration brought together Wilson’s rising stardom and Adderley’s famously celebrated quintet. Inspired by Adderley’s tone, and Wilson’s expressive phrasing, the program highlights each artist’s broader repertoire and influence.

Led by Arabic Studies faculty Alma Richeh, the Jazal Choir performs classical Arabic music as well as contemporary and modern Arabic songs. Their Harmony of Nations program blends Arabic and Middle Eastern musical styles with Western choral traditions of a cappella and harmony-based singing and orchestration.
